Abstract
The Impact of Social Isolation due to the COVID-19 Pandemic on Domestic and Violence Against Women
The coronavirus, which first appeared in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, has spread very rapidly around the world. The rapid spread of the disease, resulting in high morbidity and mortality, was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 11 March 2020. Social isolation, a highly effective practice for protection from the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to an increase in violence against women and in the family. This increase was caused by forced Association, funding anxiety, and fear and stress from the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, women who have previously been victims of violence have become more victims of both domestic and female violence with this social isolation. Current articles and international and national reports published in the Press show that violence against women is increasing. The aim of this review is to examine domestic violence due to social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, violence against women, causes of increased violence and mitigating measures in the light of current literatüre.
