Abstract


Pre-school Teachers' Opinions About The Attitude of Child Rearing
Adult’s child rearing attitudes play an important role in child development. After the child starts school, the educational institution carries out guidance on parent and child relationships. In family guidance and education, educators' opinions on child rearing attitudes play an active role. In this study, it was aimed to examine the opinions of preschool teachers on child rearing attitudes. The study group consisted of 64 preschool teachers who can be reached through easily accessible sampling into different institutions in Turkey. A Form of the Parents' Views on Child Rearing Attitudes Scale (CRAS) was used to collect the data. In analyzing the data, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used that parametric tests by looking at the distribution of normality. As a result; It was determined that the opinions of preschool teachers on child rearing attitudes do not differ significantly according to the variables of age, marital status, number of children and years of professional seniority. It has been observed that the pre-school teachers' views on democratic attitude are dominant, followed by an oppressive and authoritarian attitude, and excessively tolerant attitude is in the last place. The reliability coefficient of the scale used for teachers was determined as .92.
