Abstract


Investigation of the Impact on the Science Learning of Preschool Children of Science Activities Applied in the Garden
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of applying science activities at least once a week and in the garden on preschool children's interest in learning science. Methods: In the study, which was planned as quasi-experimental, the study group consisted of 24 five-year-old children attending pre-school education. Science activities with children, applied activities that support scientific process skills in the garden three days a week for eight weeks, and watching documentaries on the other, etc. two days of the week carried out as activities. For data collection Science Learning Assessment Test was used to pre-test and post-test. Results: As a result of the study, it was determined that there was a positive significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of preschool children on learning science. After the education program, the scientific process skills of the children increased. Science learning level was not found to be significant according to gender. Conclusions: As a result of the application of science activities in the garden, it was determined that positive contributions were made to the scientific process skills of preschoolers.
