Abstract

This study was conducted as a descriptive study to determine the knowledge and attitudes of nurses working in different fields towards violence against children. The study is comparative descriptive. The study data were obtained using the 'Personal Information Form' and the 'Violence Sensitivity towards Children Scale (VSCS)'. Descriptive tests, t test and Anova test were used in the SPSS statistical program to analyze data. The mean score of the nurses in VSCS was found to be 42.95±3.70. A statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of the nurses working in adult and pediatric units on the VSCS (p= 0.032). The sensitivity levels of the nurses participating in the study regarding violence against children were found to be high. The sensitivity levels of nurses working in adult services were determined to be higher.
