Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
The publication of a peer-reviewed journal requires the collaboration, continuous effort, and responsibility of authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members.
Our Core Standards
UNIKA Health Sciences Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal based on high ethical and editorial standards. Editorial evaluation is conducted based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal management is responsible for maintaining the academic record and upholding publication ethics.
Furthermore, UNIKA Journal has adopted the standards of the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and the BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative). Within this framework, no fees are charged for article processing.
Author's Responsibilities
All authors must have made a significant contribution to the research. In the event of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or unauthorized authorship, the article will be automatically rejected.
An article in process cannot be submitted to another journal. It is the author's responsibility to upload ethics committee approval documents for studies requiring such permission.

Reviewer's Responsibilities
Articles are evaluated by at least 2 blind reviewers (double-blind review). Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest with the author.
All information obtained during the process is kept confidential. Author names are hidden from reviewers, and reviewer names are hidden from authors. Improvements are requested for inadequate manuscripts in line with reviewer recommendations.
Editor's Responsibilities
Editors are committed to complying with all standards of the COPE code of conduct. They must not be in a conflict of interest regarding the articles they accept or reject.
Only original articles that contribute scientifically to the field should be accepted. Studies that do not meet the scientific and academic level can be rejected without entering the review process.
Journal Management (Misconduct)
The managing board and editors are obligated to prevent the publication of documents found to contain misconduct.
The journal is willing to explicitly publish corrections, clarifications, retractions (in case of publication ethics violations), and apologies when necessary.
Open Access Policy
UNIKA Health Sciences Journal values the free dissemination of research. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
Under CC BY-NC 4.0:• You may share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
• You must give appropriate credit and provide a link to the license.
• You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
No processing fees (APC, etc.) are charged to authors during any stage of the process (evaluation, printing, publication). No royalties are paid to authors.
Journal Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is the use of unpublished or published ideas or words of others without citation or permission. Self-plagiarism is also considered a form of plagiarism.
Authors are obligated to upload a "Similarity Report" obtained from software such as iThenticate or Turnitin when submitting files to the system.
